  • Nervous Drawing

    This two-hour session will introduce you to the nervous drawing technique using colour pencils and watercolours. It is a relaxed way of exploring your creative energies and breaking the fear of making marks on paper.

    Grab your sketchpads and drawing tools as we take a deep dive into some incredible graphic novels. Study environments, storylines, characters, and meet other local illustrators. Hosted by local illustrator Jenny Davis

  • Folke and Books

    A drop-in folk music club presented by Folke Around - join us for a relaxing afternoon of acoustic music and words!
    Free to attend, the session is held approximately on every third Sunday of the month - check Folke Around’s Facebook page for accurate dates.

  • LGBT+Sandwiches Social

    Join us for a inter-generational LGBTQIA+ social afternoon. Connecting members of the community from in and around Folkestone, this meet-up will include crafting sessions, discussions, games, and occasional guest appearances from local queer performers. Everyone welcome! Refreshments available.

  • Silent Bookclub

    We are the Folkestone chapter of the Silent Book Club. Our function is simple; to gather together to silently read.

    There are no expectations or pressure, our group is a welcoming space and there for that bit of escapism we all need in our everyday lives.

  • Writing Groups

    There are 2 writing groups that are open to all and meet every Saturday and Sunday.

    These groups are hosted by local writers and are free to attend. As always there are free hot drinks available, just help yourself in the reading room.

  • Arts and Crafts

    Our arts & crafts room is open every day and free to use! We have colouring books, paper and colouring in materials. There are also lots of books to cut up and reuse. This room is open to kids and adults.

    If you would like to pre-book the room for a private meeting or event, email us to discuss rates.

  • Reading Room

    Our reading room is open every day with tea, soft drinks and filter coffee available for free or for a donation if you re able.

    There are a range of books available to sit in and read that have been donated by individuals and groups such as the Siobhan Dowd trust and Whitechapel Gallery.

    There are also plenty of zines and magazines on a range of topics.
